Snow on the way to Moab

Changeable weather today. Spent the morning at the Salt Lake County Hogle Zoo, freezing! Quite a nice little Zoo, actually. Lots of school kids, but boy was it cold! Since it wasn't picnic weather by a long shot, we decided to have lunch at the "Beastro" and it was wonderful!

Then we headed off south down I-15, hung a left at Spanish Forks on US 6 to Price, UT. We are always amazed at how built up this 100 miles stretch from Brigham City, through Salt Lake down to Provo. We also noticed that there is now NO road construction going on! Between Spanish Forks and Price we had to go over a 7500 foot pass and it was snowing pretty good! We arrived in Moab, UT, about 5:30 and since the forecast was for rain all day tomorrow, we decided to do some short hikes in Arches NP until dark. It seems so wrong to be in this desert environment yet be freezing!

Great hike here!
