We spent the morning exploring the rest of Mesa Verde, which included a hike down to the Spruce Tree House and a stop at the park's brand new visitor center. The weather is pretty good; still mid 40s with a few snow showers around.
After our tailgate lunch we headed down the mountain and turned east on Rt 161 to Durango and on to Pagosa Springs, where we stopped for the day. Wonderful bar-b-q dinner at Boss Hogg's Saloon! This town seems to be a resort place - golf, hot springs, lots of summer homes. Motel has a nice pool and we took advantage of the laundry facilities.
